The tree above is one I first found in early 2008 and went looking for it in the snow

I took advantage of this direct light on Union Station and other buildings

Whether it is on the steps of the Colorado state capitol

This allows the viewer to have a sense of place but puts the attention on the snow in the fresh spring growth

Sunset from the Colorado State Capitol Size:24"x36" The tree above is oneAs I was walking past the State Capitol I decided to stop and capture an image of the sunset. I have used this perspective in the past couple of years to capture the change of seasons as well as the morning light against the Rocky Mountains. With the sun setting to the southeast this time of year it allowed a little of a gradient of the darkening evening skies framed by the architecture of the building itself.
